They had to head back up to Rexburg on Monday eve, they had classes....
Here are some pictures of our little outing to Salt Lake City. We took a tour of the Conference Center...
Up on the rooftop... DALLIN by Elder DALLIN Oaks... Out front... Over to the reflection pool... Then we went over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and watched the movie, "Joseph Smith The Prophet of the Restoration". It is so good, if you have not seen it you NEED to! I cried... again. Then we went and walked around Temple Square. Then, into the Visitors Center to see the Christus! The Spirit is always so strong in this room... "Be still, and know that I am God".
It was a beautiful day on Tuesday! The weather was perfect! It snowed on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday... we were so blessed!
Here is a picture of Chad playing in the snow out front at Grandma and Grandpa's! Hanging out at Grandma and Grandpa's... Thanks Brittany for making the cookies! Chad and Grandpa, what a treasure...Grandpa still likes his little outings... Dad's billy tube had come out some and the nurse noticed it when she was at the house on Friday so she called the Dr. and they had him come right in. Mom and I took him into the Huntsman Cancer Center on Friday and they put a new tube in. He is still pretty jaundice, you can notice it mostly in his eyes... he is very very thin but he eats REALLY well!!!! THAT makes us happy! He still loves his root beer floats! He was told he had 3-6 months back at the beginning of September but he is now starting his 8th month! He has a GREAT attitude, very very positive!!! He keeps telling the Dr's that he will see them in 5 years! I HOPE HE DOES!!!

I loved the picture of your dad and Chad...
I would have l♥ved to meet you in person! What a great post! ♥ HUGS ♥
What an AWESOME trip!! Maybe next time we can have lunch together.
It is good to see Grandpa still thriving--LOVE THE HAT!!! Reminds me of my father-in-law who passed away 2 1/2 years ago and his attitude about life.
Hope all is well. Thanks for sharing with us your fun time.
Great pictures! It looks like you had a wonderful trip!
I hope he does too! Great photos!
Love the photo of Chad and his grandpa!! That one is priceless! The boys all look great! Too bad Devin and Diana had to go home early. It really is awful with all the different spring breaks - makes it hard to get together. B/K are coming down this week after finals for the shower and they will stay a few days - but the others have finals the following week...oh well, we take what we can.
So does Brittany....its been "the boys" for so long I forgot!!!!
I am so glad you had fun with your family. I hae never seen that movie on Joseph Smith.
Oh Shai- I just want to cry. My heart hurts to see your dad so thin & jaundice. But I am so happy that he is still hear with your family & that he is not in pain. We can take skinny anyday-huh..
He is just such a cute man & I love that he's holding hands with your son.
Glad you got some pictures...
Great pictures! It is so fun to spend the day at Temple Square.
How wonderful that you got to spend time with your parents. Your dad is hanging in there, good for him - it sounds like he has such a great attitude. It is just simply priceless to be able to spend that time with those we love.
I am glad that you had a good trip. We are up in Utah now and have had a great time with Alli and Blake! We will play our third night of Settler's of Catan (Blake is still trying to beat me).
So glad to hear about your dad a little bit. I think about him. I hope all goes well. Glad he eats too.
I am so glad you got to go and do the temple square. Your family is so great Shaila.
Loved your email. :)
I love trips to temple square! And that picture of Chad and his Grandpa is priceless!!! I totally get your wish for extra time with your Dad---my Dad likes to go for drives too--its like driving around with my own personal tour guide.
OOOh...I love trips to temple square too. It never gets old. I make my kids go with me everytime I go to Utah...which is 3-4 times a year. I can't think of a better uplift!
Looks like a fun trip. Glad to see pictures of your dad!
nice you were able to have a visit with your parents- wish the weather would have been more spring like for you,
you have such a wonderful family.
hope you enjoy conference weekend.
Love all the pics. And that your Dad is doing so well! Too bad we weren't there at the same time. Although I think I had more sunshine and less snow when I was there ; )
LOVE love that pictures of your dad and Chad, priceless!! Glad you had such a good time!
I hope you are right and James is around for 5 more years!
Oh such great pictures!!!!!!!!!!! I love temple square so much! And I just barely saw that Joseph Smith movie and YES!! It was so amazing, I cried too!!! What a great post!! Oh and I have to tell you, I posted about you HERE!
Yeah know what I loved most about this post? I wished I could fly up to see Uncle James and Aunt Shari. (Greg's in construction. Calculate the odds of me being able to afford that in this economy!)
I wished Uncle James would give me fits, just go to town like he always did with no mercy. I really miss that man.
And the picture of Chad and James holding hands. Priceless.
That is so James, isn't it? He lights into you for whatever, because he loves you, but he is always holding your hand.
I remember all the crap he gave me, and appreciate it now of course, but I also remember him holding my hand at Dirk's and my graduation party. He held my hand, led me out on the dance floor, and danced with me.
AND HE WAS GOOD. He's an excellent Texas two-stepper. I was shocked that he was so good, but it was the best dance of the night.
I'd like one more dance. I hope he knows that.
Love ya, sweetie!
Lana
Wow, such great pictures! I love going to Temple Square, that's one of the things I do really miss about living in Utah. I'm so glad you got to go!
