We are in Matt, studying about the miracles that Christ performed...
Here is a quote that I really liked from David Ridges...
“Every time you read of a physical healing of the sick, performed by the Savior, you can consider it symbolic of His ability to heal us spiritually, through His Atonement. Thus, every healing will remind you of the Master’s power to heal you spiritually, through your repentance and His forgiving you. In this case of the healing of a leper, leprosy could be symbolic of very serious sin which can gradually destroy us spiritually."
If you would like to see what leprosy looks like go Here. (Thank you Pam)
Another thought from Bruce R. McConkie...
There is so much missionary work to be done that it will not all be finished before the second Coming – McConkie, Doctrinal New Testament Commentary, Vol. 1, P. 332
And lastly... Matt. 10:41
"He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward."
IF we will but accept and sustain Church leaders, we will receive a prophet's reward, exaltation!
This reminds me of a scripture mastery, D&C 1:38.... "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same."
With conference coming up this weekend, I pray that we will be humble and teachable and prepare to "receive a prophet's reward"!
Remind ya of a Primary song... "Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, follow the prophet, don't go astray. Follow the prophet, follow the prophet, follow the prophet, he knows the way!"
BTW, I love this picture that my brother just sent me... Isn't he cute??!!!

Love this face of our Prophet Shaila. So very cute. He is so kind, witty and loves us.
Thanks for this reminder of being prepared for this weekend. This weekend is one of my favs. I love the cozy of it all. I love listening and sustaining. I need these prophet rewards badly. I can't live without them. Oh how I love prophets.
I bet he would be tickled to know you think he's cute...but he IS!
And such a kind and loving man.
I love Pres. Monson! He's the man! My children are in Matt also for seminary. I am sure you are going to have a great night and a good discussion for your class.
So cute. Where did your brother get that photo? I love it.
Thanks for these thoughts. They are great especially heading into conference weekend. m
PS
Can I steal the photo?
Thanks for the sweet comments...I do feel blessed. Lacey is single..but spoken for...and I hope she keeps him. He seems like a really nice young man. The secret in the sauce is a website that features one blogger each day and encourages people to leave comments. It also has tons of give-a-ways and lets you know about lots of blog contests. It's pretty cool. Have a wonderful day!
Mechelle, YES, take it! Want me to email it to you? My brother just got it on line!
Thanks Nikki! And Goose, I hope that they will participate well tonight! I like it when they help me teach!
Wonderful Post! seriously ♥
thank you for this!
There is also great symbolism of the atonement in the book of Lev, the one with the 2 birds... but, you should have your lesson wrapped up by now! Let me know how it goes with the questions!
I bet they will be happy to have you back! ENJOY! Thanks for sharing!
I wish I could come to your class. I'm sure you are a great teacher. I love that picture too, and can't wait to listen to conference, or as Connor calls it "church at home".
I love that picture. Can I copy it? I love your thoughts & your lesson. Thanks for sharing. I bet your a great teacher...
What a GREAT picture of President Monson!
Really great quotes. I particularly love the quote you posted:
["D&C 1:38.... "What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.""]
It seems as though the world likes to 'bend the rules' and expects us to condone their actions so they don't have to feel bad anymore. Throwing at us "But, God loves ALL His children"... well of course He does, but it doesn't mean He agree's with what you're doing!
Great reminders!
I love that picture!!
Hi! I just linked over from Jan's blog. Hope you don't mind my intrusion :)
I loved reading your thoughts and seeing that heartwarming picture of our prophet. We are so blessed to have a prophet in these latter days.
