I can assure you that the greatest responsibility and the greatest joys in life are centered in the family, honorable marriage, and rearing a righteous posterity. ~Ezra Taft Benson

Thought Question...
Are you trading what you want MOST for what you want in the moment?
Because I am human I have to say that Yes sometimes this happens.
I think most of the time I have an Eternal perspective but I tend to be a very sensitive person and a very driven person - that coupled with life experiences has sometimes made me forget the final goal. This is why it is so good to go to church each week. I often need to be reminded.
Are you giving your least to those who matter most... and are you giving your best to those who really aren't that close... Well, it's time to change your mind, and find out where the greatest joys are found...
I have a WONDERFUL husband who supports me in everything I do! He is a great father! We are so lucky to have him! I love being with him whether it is an exciting trip to Hawaii or just going out for a quick lunch... okay, I even like sitting on the couch watching TV with him! He is the best! We have been blessed with 5 VERY handsome, VERY kind, VERY competitve (haha) SONS! I have loved going to their sporting events and "cheering" them on to victory over the years. Time flies, I have learned to enjoy each and every day! Life is too short! I have been SO blessed! I have 2 beutiful daughters in law whom I am SO grateful for! They are wonderful and add so much joy to my life! I always wanted a daughter and now I have TWO! AND, we have 2 new grandsons who have stole my heart!!! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the youth of the church... trying to help them see the importance of EVERY decision they make! I currently teach institute. I love to play with my kids, GO TO THE BEACH!, garden, go to a movie, go out to eat, travel, and just go out to lunch with my friends!
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." -Gordon B. Hinckley "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." -Robert Brauit "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." -Marjorie Pay Hincklely
"Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." -Majorie Pay Hinckley
"How did a nice girl like me get into a mess like this?"-Majorie Pay Hinckley
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley

Great question.
Reminds me of that old Michael McLean song:
Are you giving your least to those who matter most...
and are you giving your best to those who really aren't that close...
Well, it's time to change your mind,

Good thought. Got me thinkin'!

Great thought! And yes I seem to do this. Eternity seems so far away at times.

I have heard that comment before...."the greatest heartbreak and sadness is trading what we want most for what we want at the moment"....How true!
