Beach Day

It is such a bummer when the summer comes to an end. School starts here on Wednesday. So, yesterday we went to the beach. I love the beach... the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, the sand between my toes, the mist in the air, the sound of the waves, and the joy on my children's faces! Here are a few pics from yesterday... Tanning and sharing headphones...

PS I cut my hair... short and sassy once again!

AND, Sunday night Dallin got his Patriarchal Blessing! It was a very sweet moment... For those of you who might not be LDS I looked "Patriarchal Blessing" up on Wikipedia and this is what is said: "In the Latter-Day Saint movement, a Patriarchal Blessing is a blessing or ordinance given by a Patriarch to a church member. Patriarchal Blessings are modeled after the blessing given by Abraham to each of his sons prior to his death."

Your hair is perfect!

I'm glad you guys had a great day at the beach... My son doesn't start his senior year until Sept 8!
So we haven't started the winding down process yet (I'm looking forward to things slowing down here a bit!)

Take Care!

Great pictures. I love your hair and all of that beautiful curl. I can't believe summer is almost over already. My kids started back last week.

I love the beach. What a great place for last minute relaxing time before school starts. We actually just came back from California. It was wonderful.

What good timing for your son to get his Patriarchal Blessing before going away to college. Love your curly hair too!

I {heart} the beach too!
We were in Santa Cruz a couple weeks ago and I was standing there on the sand looking at the waves and I told my SIL how it was amazing that the rhythm of the ocean brings such peace. I just felt totally relaxed. I always feel that way by the ocean.

I love your pictures. It looks like you guys had a great day. The tanning/sharing headphones pictures is SO 2009 isn't it! I think that is so cute and a look that defines this generation - ha ha.
I LOVE your new haircut! I would kill for your natural waves and curls. So cute!
OH.....
P-Blessings - So special and I love being able to be there in the room as a parent. Such a neat experience!

P.S. Did you give your youth conference talk yet?

I am so jealous you got to spend the day at the beach. I love the beach, but of course in AZ all we have is a lot of heat instead. Good luck with school tomorrow. We started Monday and are already up to eye balls in homework.

And about your talk. . . It looks like you have been given a lot of good advice. I agree that both the appropriate non use and use should be discussed. Another good talk is Elder Bednar's May CES fireside talk. Good Luck with that!

I love the cuteness that is your hair. LOVE the curls!

Very cool about Dallin's PB. My sister called me a couple days ago to say she somehow ended up with my orignial copy in the box of her old stuff she picked up at Moms. I'd gotten a replacement copy but lost it too. As a result, I haven't read mine in a few years. It was really neat to read it and see how much of it has come to pass.

I had a funny non-LDS friend in Oregon who said "The thing I like about Mormons is that they have a psychic reading done for them." She was Wiccan. It took me awhile to figure out what she meant by 'psychic reading' but I LOL'd when I did- not really the same thing at all but I can see how she came to that conclusion.
