Lots of news!

Brad was called as the bishop of our ward. He was sustained on Sunday, March 20, 2011. His father (Gordon), Kathi, Brent, Becky, Brent (yes, we have 2 Brents), Melodie, Holden, Bryce and Bailey all came to support him. It was nice to have so much family here. I wish I would have taken pictures, I don't know why I forgot to! I also need to take a picture of him with his counselors! Just as a funny side note, a friend from the ward came up to Brad and I on Sunday and told us that they were pretty sure Brad would be the new bishop so they drove by our house at 10:30 on Saturday night to see if there were any cars with out of stake plates, haha... guess they saw all the cars and knew! Funny!

Brent and Becky stayed on Monday to play! We drove down to Newport Beach and then down to Laguna. We had fish and chips and then a really yummy dessert! Thanks, Brent!

Then Becky and I went and waded in the water!

And, then Becky and I went and got us each a new toe ring! It was a really fun day!

The best news I have gotten in a long time came YESTERDAY!!! Dallin's visa status went from "received" to "processing"!!!! THAT is really great news!!! That means that he will probably be on his way to Belo Horizonte Brasil in less than 2 weeks!!! I am super excited for him! I sure wish there was some way I could let him know! I did email him but he wont be able to read it until next Monday!

I got a couple of new pics of Dallin. This one is of him and his companion on St. Patrick's day, hence the green ties!

And here they are on their bikes! Last I heard they had a car, so don't ask me! Maybe they get the car when there is snow and ride bikes when spring comes? I don't know... I will ask him in his next email!

I am not sure if congratulations is the right word but I think its pretty cool that you are now the bishops wife...lol Just think of all the blessings for family is going to receive. Congrats on Dallins Visa I am pretty sure that happened to my brother as well but he served in Argentina.

WOW, bishop---you two are going to be very busy! Good luck with that! You've inspired me, maybe I'll get a toe ring too. :) I've never had one!

Hey girl! Congratulations all around. You'll find that having a husband as a Bishop has so many blessings it'll be difficult to even seen the down side. How exciting for Derek and Brittany. Sorry I haven't been in touch for so long... My Brittney just had another little one. That makes 5 and one-on-the-way grandbabies. Yippee for being grandparents... it's the best!

Welcome to the Bishop Wives Club!!
We all have to stick together when the hubby's become Bishop's because we have to have someone to hang with because we never see our husbands!!!

I am mostly kidding (wink!).

Having your husband be the Bishop can be hard sometimes but the blessings and the experiences are enormous!

Congratulations!!

I am so glad to hear about the visa!! Hopefully he will be on his way very soon.

And congrats to you and your husband on his new calling. I also feel for you. It is a great thing to be able to serve the people in your ward, but it is also very challenging. My advice to you--which will mean more in the months ahead--don't get involved in ward business--no matter how tempting, and be sure to find time each week that is just for you and your husband and then guard that time. When my husband was called as bishop we started going to lunch on Wednesdays. We have now been doing that for about 17 years. No phones are allowed and it is just our time. That saved me many times during his term as bishop.

Anyway--my prayers will be with you.:-)
