I have ALWAYS LOVED QUILTS!!!! I think a homemade quilt is my favorite thing on earth... well, CLOSE to it! My mother makes beautiful quilts and so do TWO of my sisters in law! I WANT TO LEARN TO QUILT! I helped my mom cut the fabric for one of my son & DIL's quilts that she made them for their wedding but that is the closest I have come to quilting. I wish they lived closer, I would make them TEACH me how!
I just loved how this quilt was "made for the couple"! The bride's mom made it. Here are a few more "close up" pictures... As you can see, she embroidered some cute sayings on it!
Isn't is fun??? I WANT TO LEARN TO QUILT!!!
Do YOU quilt???

That is really beautiful. What a precious gift for the new couple. I don't quilt...I have no patience for that kind of thing. My mom has been quilting since she retired and has made me some really amazing quilts. She's made so many for everyone she knows...that she's running out of people to give them to. So she started donating them to a Women's shelter.
That is so pretty. What a fantastic job. I love quilts too. I have made a few, but I am not as patient as I should be.
My friend quilts to relieve stress. I am so amazed at that. I can't believe that it unstresses someone.
Lovely lovely. Thanks.
i LOVE LOVE LOVE quilts, too!!! gosh....and i really love that one!!!
i want one...i want one!!
and I do not know how to quilt...that is a shame!! i need to learn how to. seriously.
Gosh....i love that quilt.....♥
i have a new quilt on my bed!!! {yay!} and Jacob actually picked out a quilt that he wants for his bed as a birthday present!! :)
we love quilts around here...they are always so beautiful and comforting. Like there is love in every stitch!!!!
I love that quilt! I like the Family and Faith and Friends that are on the side! that's cool! I want to make a quilt! It would take me a year! Someday, I will make one! No promises when. Thanks for sharing! It's inspiring! Love, Kelely
Love it! I really love old quilts, or quilts that look like they're old. Nothing like a comfy quilt to cuddle up in while you're reading. My carpal tunnel hand hurts just thinking about quilting. Guess there's machine quilting for me. Like that would happen. Maybe one day...
Dang, Nikki, tell her to donate one to me!!! °Ü°
Jan! You can quilt??!!! I am jealous!
Tammy, why do you have carpal tunnel??
Merrianne & Kelley, I am totally with ya!
Okay, you must be my kindred spirit. Learning to quilt in on my bucket list! I have bought books, fabrics and quilting stuff and STILL haven't done it yet. Let's get together!!!
What a beautiful quilt. The quiltmaker had a great eye for color. My mom makes some of the most gorgeous quilts. She won several awards for one she made for me and was offered $2,000 for it.
I personally can not stand to quilt...I am a scrapbooker. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate a quilt cause I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. I just don't want to make them.
Beautiful and sooo impressive. No I don't quilt...I can barely sew up a rip and I quit sewing once my girls left home. I love them but am just happy buying them. My mother in law was a wonderful seamstress and especially quilts and she once told me someone would get their toe caught in my stiches so that fixed me for life. Give me a book anyday. LOL
I love to quilt. I usually have two are three quilts going at once. It is so fun. I would say, find your local quilt shop and take a class. Don't wait. There is just too much beauty to create to wait! m
That is truly a talent...unfortunately one that I don't claim. I don't think I have the patience for it. I want things done and now! That one is just absolutely beautiful!
BEAUTIFUL!!! You should show the one yuor mom had done for the cabin!
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my blog. What a wonderful wedding present. I'm sure they will treasure it forever. Nice to meet you.
Brandee :-)
Shaila-hi I'm Lissa Rogers daughter Melissa?...I was blog hopping. Your blog is so cute. I LOVE that quilt and my mom has given me that love to quilt. I took one class, and have a made a few baby quilts since then. You should take a class. I know there's a quilt store in Redlands called Calico Horse-not sure what they're offering. Or in Corona, Stars & Scraps-that's where I took my first & so far only class, but totally worth it. It's a fun hobbie to have and totally addicting. I can't believe how grown up and married your kids are. It's so weird, but great at the same time.-Melissa Gargalis
How funny, I was just going to leave you a note to go take a class at Calico Horse in Redlands and my sweet Melissa had already left the very same comment! When stopped teacing seminary I took a class and that lead to other classes and then joining a weekly group for over 5 years. Once the second grandbaby came along I didn't have as much time. I made such wonderful friends quiliting at Calico Horse. That is truly an adorable quilt!
The wedding quilt is incredible...such talent!
Quilting would be so relaxing and enjoyable. Too bad a group of us don't live close by so we could start a quilting group!
Have a great weekend!
Adorable! and I love my Quilt that you picked out the fabric for!! :)
Ooooh I LOVE that quilt! It's the cutest thing ever!!!
I'm the exact same as you. I wish I knew how to quilt! My mom makes beautiful quilts and I would LOVE to learn but she doesn't live near me so it would be hard to learn without her to help me through the entire thing. But I want to learn someday SO bad!
Yay - so glad you got it!!! Remember the days before email and we would have more letters and cards out in the mailbox - in some ways I really miss those times. In the ensign article about Joseph and Emma it talked about Josephe reading and rereading and rereading letters from Emma - letters had such a different even more significant meaning back then.
Anywhooooo - yay for smiles - thinking about you and your family so much - luv Janell
That quilt is just beautiful! No, I dont quilt but I wish I did...even more now! Take care~
I don't quilt, I'm not really wanting to learn but I am definitely into spending some serious cash to own such precious gems. I love quilts, I love the story they can tell. I love that this one was made just for them. I need a quilt made with my life story on it!!!
When we went home I went to the Amish to see what new quilt I could purchase. I still haven't found what I was looking for. The hunt continues.
What a cute idea! I love that quilt. I have been wanting to learn how to quilt too, but I haven't yet. Maybe someday I will have a craft room where I will have plenty of space for setting up all kinds of craft projects. Wouldn't that be fun!?!
This post gave me the idea to give one of my quilts away. I make them for the gals in our ward who are having babies! Thanks for the post and the idea. M
