Every Sunday night as far back as I can remember... we make cookies! I think this might have started the very 1st Sunday we were married! I didn't know how to cook... in fact, our 1st day home after the honeymoon... Brad got up and asked if I would just fry him up an egg or 2 and he would jump in the shower. Well... YIKES! HOW ON EARTH DO YOU FRY AN EGG??!!! So, not to make a long distant phone call, I quickly called his sister and asked
her. She laughed and laughed... I thought I could never get her to quit laughing before Brad was out of the shower and found out I didn't know how to FRY AN EGG!!!!! She finally told me and I quickly fried up my new hubby a couple of egg and made him some toast. The young women thought this was so funny that they put that in my camp name one year....
Grneggznhair.... standing for GREEN (my favorite color at the time) eggz (for well, the story I just told you) 'n hair (coz my freaking BIG hair. Anyway, I might not have known how to COOK, but boy could I bake! LOL.... Anyway, that is a tradition of ours... cookies every Sunday night. BUT, there ARE those Sunday's that I just crave something besides cookies. And, since I AM the once baking... I GET TO CHOOSE. AND, tonight was one of those nights.... so, they got peach cobbler. This is a YUMMMY EASY recipe that I got from my mom years and years ago and I thought I would share it with you. So, here it is....
Peach Cobbler
melt one stick of butter in your casserole dish
1 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 t. vanilla
2 t. baking powder
dash of salt
Mix this together in a bowl and pour it over the butter. Do not stir.
Then open up a lg. can of sliced peaches and with a fork set the peaches around on the batter. Then pour the peach juice around over the top. (again, do not mix)
Bake at °350 for about 30 min (until golden brown)
ENJOY!

I just got some peaches. Oh my this looks good. We use to have scrambled egg sandwiches growing up on Sunday evenings watching the Wild Kingdom.
We have popcorn most Sunday nights. But I was craving chocolate all evening. So I had a cup of hot cocoa.
Boy does that cobbler look delish...I just may have to make it soon!
What a fun tradition. Our Sunday tradition has ALWAYS been to have dinner together. With all of the kids activities things really used to get busy during the week...but come rain or shine...I made sure we always had Sunday dinner together. Good times and good memories.

that is funny about the Fried Eggs. When Spencer and I were first married he asked me to make him 2 eggs OVER EASY! and he happened to mention that he is VERY picky about them. Then he was OFF to the shower!!!

I had to run downstairs to the computer, look up OVER EASY EGGS online really quick, then run back upstairs to the kitchen to try it out!
When he took his first bite....he SMILED so big & said that "THESE ARE THE BEST OVER-EASY EGGS I HAVE EVER HAD."

This was also one of MaMa's receipes and we always wanted a scoop of vanilla ice cream while it was hot. It's not all that good the next day but we rarely had any left over. LOL
OK...the egg story is pretty dang funny. I bet your sis-in-law still needles you about that...I know I would lol.

This is too funny. This is MY mom's old favorite peach cobbler recipe. I made it twice last week. I had a bunch of peaches I need to use. It's soooo yummy with melted ice cream on top. :-)

That was funny! I actually went to the store (many moons ago), got a chicken (alreay cooked) and some sides, threw them all in my dishes and tried to pass it all off as my own. Thank goodness it was for someone who had even less taste than I did!
I honestly didn't know the first thing about cooking back then. Those were my skinny days!
