Busy Friday

Yesterday was a weird Halloween... my older children (3 sons and 2 cute little daughters in law) live up in Rexburg (TOO far away to play, dang it!) and Dallin had a football game... and poor Chad got neglected. I need to repent.

As most of you know we here in Cali are voting on Prop 8 to protect marriage! So, yesterday most of the town was split up and holding signs up all over town. Here is a picture of our little group...

We didn't have many negative people... ONE lady did tell us that it was not appropriate for us to stand there holding the signs... okay. But, we DID have lots and lots on honks and thumbs up going on! That made me happy! Although, today on my way to Costco there were a bunch of people on a street corner holding NO on Prop 8 signs! Should I have yelled out to them that it was not appropriate??!! I sure wanted to. I wanted to throw eggs at them (thank goodness I didn't have any with me!) Instead I just called a friend and vented!

Back to yesterday...
Every Friday at 2:00 we go up to the high school and feed the football team. Sometimes it is catered and sometimes we cook. Yesterday I made Texas Sheet Cake to serve with the tri tip they got. Here is a picture of one of the cakes...

I tried to take a few pics of the boys, but they were dying... Dallin put his hand up to block me and Ricky turned away, stinkers!!!

Dallin's Cheerleader (Cute Kailin) made him a sweatshirt in her screen printing class...

Our Chad man was a Cowboy... I was going to upload a picture, but I CANT FIND MY CAMERA!!!!! I HOPE I DIDN'T LEAVE IT AT THE GAME LAST NIGHT!!!!! YIKES!!!! I AM FREAKING!

I love the sweatshirt. We did our sign holding today and we got the same responses as you. A lot of honks and thumbs up and a few negative. I am sure going to glad when this election is all over.

I saw some "Say No To Prop 8" signs when they were showing the premiere of that movie MILK. It is a movie about the first government man who is openly gay. It is so sad to me...I really dislike stuff that celebrates the great "achievements" of the gay community...it makes me very sad and fearful.

So grateful for you guys doing that. It affects us all. You are the pioneers for the USA. Thanks so much for putting it out there. Glad it was relatively peaceful for you. I hope you find your camera. That would be awful. Have a great weekend. Your kids are so great.

I am so glad you posted this! I feel a lot better after reading and seeing that my teenage boys are not the only ones in the world that hate their pictures being taken :)

Your kids are so cute. Proud of you for standing up for your convictions. This should be an interesting week with the elections.

You live in such a pretty area. I'm jealous that you're wearing flip flops!! LOL.

Wish we could have met up last week. It was a crazy busy weekend. Next time!!

Sounds like you had a busy and fun day!

And about prop 8 - Suuperman and I were supposed to make calls to CA voters about it, but never got any info. I heard that the Church decided to not have such an active role, and that it was up to the voters.

I'm proud of you for not throwing eggs or the trash in your car. =D

It will be interesting to see what happens on Prop 8 on Tuesday. When I was doing some calling for it, someone called me a "hater" . People who are voting NO want others to be tolerant but they have been much less than tolerant against those voting YES.

It takes a lot of courage to stand and hold a political sign no matter which side of an issue you hold. It's just nice to see people caring at all. So much apathy in this country.

Good for you to be out there holding signs. I hope it passes, I really do.

And I never can get a good pic of my 12 year old either. He never wants his pic taken.

Hope you find your camera! I would be freaking too!

You are such a good mom to the whole flippin football team it seems. The texas cake is a favorite one at our home... Bet it was gone in seconds.
We are praying for you in California. Thank You for standing for the right and for all your hard work. We all appreciate every one working so hard. A 18 year boy bore his testimony Sunday about how grateful he was for his family, then broke down and asked everyone to pray that families remain as God intended them to be. It really was sweet.
Good Luck finding your camera. I would sure freak out and everyone would know it until it was found:)

Yes! You should have thrown eggs. That's exactly what Jesus Christ would have done. He hated people who the majority considered different/sinners and did everything he could to make sure that the majority was scared of them.

If we continue to stifle the rights of gays, eventually they will all just turn straight. That's how we sorted out the problem with black people.

Thanks, for perfectly capturing the spirit of this campaign and being such a good example to my mom! You're the best.

Love,
