I can assure you that the greatest responsibility and the greatest joys in life are centered in the family, honorable marriage, and rearing a righteous posterity. ~Ezra Taft Benson

Faith...
I was working on my Institute lesson for tonight and came across a short simple and yet oh, so true scripture I thought I would share...
2 Corinthians 5:7 For we walk by Faith, not by sight
Faith is hard for me. I prefer sight and my own effort. Turning things over to anyone, including God, and expecting them to be as interested and concerned about the outcome as I am is extremely hard for me. I'm thickheaded sometimes.
good...and the one that we read in SS on Sunday was from Romans:14:23 "But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin". Ouch
My problem right now with faith is that I don't know what God has in mind. I know what I want, so that's what I want to have happen. I'm scared (total lack of faith) to place it in God's hands because I'm afraid (again, no faith) of what He'll say.
Which means I just end up with no answer because I haven't turned it over to God. Viscious cycle. Or maybe it's a stale mate.
Great thought. My patriarchal blessing tells me that I have the gift of faith...what it didn't explain to me, tho, is that one often goes through the refiners fire to gain that gift of faith. ;0). Thanks for sharing.
What a great scripture. I really like that.. You & Pam are just so strong & have so much knowledge to share. Thank you so much for helping me learn more.
I have a WONDERFUL husband who supports me in everything I do! He is a great father! We are so lucky to have him! I love being with him whether it is an exciting trip to Hawaii or just going out for a quick lunch... okay, I even like sitting on the couch watching TV with him! He is the best! We have been blessed with 5 VERY handsome, VERY kind, VERY competitve (haha) SONS! I have loved going to their sporting events and "cheering" them on to victory over the years. Time flies, I have learned to enjoy each and every day! Life is too short! I have been SO blessed! I have 2 beutiful daughters in law whom I am SO grateful for! They are wonderful and add so much joy to my life! I always wanted a daughter and now I have TWO! AND, we have 2 new grandsons who have stole my heart!!! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I love the youth of the church... trying to help them see the importance of EVERY decision they make! I currently teach institute. I love to play with my kids, GO TO THE BEACH!, garden, go to a movie, go out to eat, travel, and just go out to lunch with my friends!
"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." -Gordon B. Hinckley "Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." -Robert Brauit "The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache." -Marjorie Pay Hincklely
"Be kind. Everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle." -Majorie Pay Hinckley
"How did a nice girl like me get into a mess like this?"-Majorie Pay Hinckley
"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived." -Marjorie Pay Hinckley

That is sweet.
Great scripture! HOW did class go??
So true. It reminds me of my favorite quote on Faith:
Put your hand into the hand of God, which will be to you better than a light and safer than a known way. m

I love this scripture! I do walk by faith! in all things. Even before the trial.

Absolutely! And, we have to learn to be OK with that whole "but if not" factor!!
I wish I could take Institute from you... I sort of need that in my life.
