Earthquake!!!

Oh my gosh, did you feel that??!!! I have lived in Cali for 22 years and I have felt MANY of earthquakes, but can I just tell you that was the LONGEST and HARDEST quake I have EVER felt... I am still swaying (NO JOKE!) I am home alone and I have to say this is the first time it was NOT fun!!! I freaked for a min... I could hear things falling! WHERE was the epicenter? HOLY COW! I had to stop and think (tough job for ME!) WHAT am I supposed to do during a quake??? Shoot... do I get under the desk? Do I get in the doorway? I CAN'T REMEMBER!!! WHAT am I supposed to do??!!! Should I go outside???!!! HELP.

Okay, it is over. I am fine. Relax, Shaila.

Seriously, I have NEVER felt one like that before! I am still shaking! I usually enjoy a quake... it has always been like a Disneyland ride. THIS ONE was NOT. I didn't think it was going to end.

Okay, I am fine. It is over.

UPDATE: No wonder I was shaking forEVER. Check THIS out!!! A 5.8 and then THREE 3.8 after shocks!!! YIKES! You can read about it HERE.

woah! I would be freaking out! I have never experienced an earthquake. I mean panicking for me would be a mild understatement. Glad you are ok.

That sounds scary! I'm glad everything is okay! I grew up in San Diego and have felt many earthquakes too, but none very big or very long before.

Oh my gosh. I am so scared for you. I am so glad that you posted an update. I would have been worrying all day. It's sounds like it was pretty big. I would have been panicked too. I do not like anything that makes the earth shake. Take care and let us know.

Bye for now.

Hey you! It was great talking to you and SO great knowing you are ok! But I thought oh yeah you asked a question! They say the best place is BESIDE the couch, NOT UNDER anything, that collapses, but beside something leaves you a tent like area to survive and escape from.

Checked on Deb she is ok, hardly felt it.

Again, glad you are ok!!! Love ya!

YAH !!!!!!!!!! I live in Chino Hills!! It was not fun. I had Michelle here with me and her friend Noelle. They went running, and I told them to stay in the family room, which we added on, and it's only one story, and the safest place in our house. We had pictures fall off the wall, things fell off shelfs. Thank heavens it wasn't more crazy.

Why did I think you lived in Colorado?! Weird.

So glad you're okay. That would be very very scary. I'm so afraid of being in an earthquake. They keep talking about the 'big one' that will hit salt lake.

Sounds so terrifying - so glad you're okay.

Glad you are OK! I was at work talking on the phone to a important client the first time I felt an earthquake. I dove right under my desk and started talking to my client about how scared I was. It was really embarrassing when the quake was over. Good Golly I am glad you are are in one piece. m

How scary! I was in an earthquake once up in Northern Cal. It scared the ba-jeebers out of me!

So glad you are doing well... and nothing is broken.

I'm so sorry you were alone when the quake hit...extremely scary I'm sure!

We didn't feel anything in our neck of the woods although I've felt my share also from being born and raised in CA. Nope, not fun.

Glad you're ok!

I should have called you! I agree, it's one of the biggest I've ever felt and I was feeling just as freaked out. I hate earthquakes, especially when I'm alone.
