GREAT NEWS!!!

We got GREAT news today!!! Brad just got home from Vegas a bit ago, he had gone so he could be with Bryce when they extracted the bone marrow this morning. The Dr. said that the results from the Body Scans were back and there is NO other cancer in his body!!! ONLY the tumor in his colon!!! NOTHING ELSE!!! So, he said, that means that the bone marrow should be clear too! He would not tell him for sure yet, but he said it looks like it will only be stage 1!!! YEAH!!! GREAT NEWS!!! He has large B cell non Hodgkin's Lymphoma... probably only stage 1!!! WE ARE SO SO SO HAPPY! THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!!!

Tomorrow he goes in to talk to the surgeon and schedule the surgery to put the "shunt" in to administer the chemo. Then on Friday they go in for a class about chemo. Hopefully they will put the shunt in soon! The Dr. said after the shunt is in they will give him a couple of days for the swelling to go down and then they will start the chemo. He said as soon as they start the chemo the tumor will start to shrink and the pain will subside!!! So, get ready Jose, you will soon be shrunk down to NOTHING!!! GONE! You will no longer exist! ...BYE BYE!

Yeah, Bryce, we are doing the HAPPY DANCE over here!!!

And, of course, we are very grateful that our prayers were answered!!!

Hi! Is it Shaila? Thank you so much for enjoying my blog. It's so fun to meet new people through blogging. I have even gotten to know people in our fairly new Ward through my blog. So, sorry about your brother-in-law. It does sound like things are going good though. One of my uncles whom I really love has two kinds of cancer right now. He and my aunt just left yesterday morning to drive to Seattle for a treatment that really is a situation where if it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger. It has to do with stem cells.
Well it's lovely to meet you, did you find me through Jan by any chance? She is such a sweet heart.

So happy for you guys to get good news. I would imagine that cancer and chemo is still completely frightening, but so happy for you all to know there is the one tumor that sounds like is very treatable. These sorts of health problems are so scary and our prayers join you and your family for a full and quick recovery. So sad your brother and your family has to go through this at all, but so happy for you that you have strong family ties and strong testimonies to get this you all through this.

Oh that is wonderful news. It must have been terrifying the last few days. So glad Bryce has such great support. I know the chemo will not be a happy experience - but it is a necessary evil. With your support he will get through this!

As cancer patients we need to rely on our doctors for their expertise and we need to do everything we can for ourselves, but we also need to remember not to just trust in the arm of flesh. Doctors do not know about the strength of prayer, they do not know about the effectiveness of fasting and they do not know about the healing power of the priesthood. I am always so glad to hear good news about a fellow cancer patient!! Congratulations!

I noticed several of you who commented have had cancer and BEAT it!!! Wilma... Sherry... Debbie...
