This is ridiculous! they arrested and put a man in JAIL because he requested the RIGHT, his right to be notified of the material the SCHOOL was presenting to his child.

Point. The school felt they needed to teach this and be affirmative. I do not EVER remember a pamphlet coming home TEACHING marriage between a man and a woman! If they are going to represent GAYS, lesbians etc, they must represent ALL SIDES! I would ask demand where is the literature on heterosexual marriage.

The same policy goes for religion. My children are asked to learn about Jewish tradtions, hannakah, african religion, something else at "holiday Season" however not once is Christianity represented! Again, fair representation.

OK, the entire issue is NOT over gays and being married.

Congress/state etc SHOULD NOT change the sacred vows of marriage between a man and a woman.

GAYS are not fighting for the right to BE MARRIED!
They are fighting for the right to have and be recognized by law and by healthcare systems to the right as a domestic partner to have the rights as a spouse for health care, or benefits.

THOSE ARE THE LAWS THAT SHOULD BE CHANGED! not the law of marriage. MARRIAGE allows for gays to qualify for health benefits and to inherit etc. So, change the LAWS not the standard of marriage!

Why has no one suggested or done this?? It would have never escalated to right to marry had they been able to be give their "partner" benefits, etc.

I just watched the video-It did not surprise me-I have fought my kids school on so many issues that it's not even funny. They want to take our rights away on many issues not just same sex marriages. I only have one more son left in school and he is very well grounded in the Lord and only has 2 years to go-But I feel for all the other young parents trying to raise children nowadays. I think about my grandchildren and pray, pray, pray for them. Most my friends homeschool their kids now.
This is all very sad but also makes me realize that it's got to get worse before it gets better and the Lord comes to take us home. Soon. :) Very soon.

I love this video. I just hope that it can be seen by enough people. I hope and pray that this prop passes because if it doesn't pass than I might just take my younger kids out of public schools and I really don't want to.

Oh My Goodness! I didn't realize they were having our kids read books like this without our knowledge.. I do not want my kids to hear about this at school or be forced to think this is ok..
Great video

We caught some of this in our neck of the woods too. It is something else. You go girl. Thanks for putting this out there. We have to stand firm and not let it just ride across us laying down.

This is so scary. I'm very concerned about the direction our country is moving in.

Thanks for posting this and putting this out there.

Living here in Massachusetts gives me an insight on how this will effect your state. I sure hope Californias stand up and make sure this doesn't happen to you. It is unreal the stuff that goes on here....and the stuff that we are expected to not just agree with...but to embrace and CELEBRATE! It is horrible...and frustrating...and I sure wouldn't want to ever raise a family here. Good luck with your fight there in California!

I hadn't seen this video and found it very upsetting. It truly makes me glad that I don't have any small children in public school anymore. They want to take away so many rights of the parents.

Thank you for putting this video out there and educating us on this so that we can vote to protect marriage in Nov.

I feel for the parents,as they are obviously trying to do the what they felt was right, but they were informed. They were given a copy of the book that was read to their son. It's not like they were read the book in school, and told not to discuss it with their parents. It was sent home to discuss with their parents. Even if the book wasn't read, the issue would arise because they would have fellow students that would not come from a traditional family background. Better, that the parents knew it had been discussed so they could share their beliefs, rather than it being discussed on the playground or in the lunchroom.

I never really felt like I had rights as a parent, but rather resposibilities. I've seen many people want their rights without accepting their responsibilties. My responsibilities are to teach my children truth, and the ways in which they can recognize truth.

I think we don't give children enough credit of recognizing truth. They have the spirit of Christ with them to know right from wrong. Things might get worse, but we will also be stronger, our children will be stronger, and the spirit of the Lord will be stronger.

Finally, what about those children who do come from homes of two fathers, two mothers, or one parent, or no parents. It was not their choice. We need to make sure that we teach our children the ideal as well as loving others who don't come from that ideal.

I have great trust in our children. I try to live by faith and not fear, and it seems to me that this video was playing to our fears rather than strengthening our faith. Kaylynn
